Become a Volunteer for the Lace Guild

The Lace Guild CIO is an educational charity committed to promoting excellence in the craftsmanship of lace and lacemaking.

To complete its aims and objects, it is reliant on the membership to cultivate new ideas and their support to make them a reality.

All of this is made possible by A TEAM OF ENTHUSIASTIC VOLUNTEERS and WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT:

                We need TRUSTEES

                We need SUB-COMMITTEE MEMBERS

We need VOLUNTEERS AT THE HOLLIES AND EVENTS AROUND THE UK

We need your ideas, suggestions and willingness to help, to take The Lace Guild CIO forward into the future. Don’t forget, many hands make light work.

Most of all, we need your infectious enthusiasm for lace.

We have a hard-working Office Team and hard-working Sub-committees.

To give you an idea of the diverse range of activities volunteers get involved in planning and making manifest, here are just some of the areas covered by Sub-committees/working parties currently:

  • AGM

  • Publications

  • Education & Development

  • Marketing & Membership

  • Collections (Museum, Archive and Library)

  • Golden Anniversary (preparing for our upcoming 50th)

  • Triennial Competition (Next is TREASURE 2025)

If you aren’t sure how but you would like to offer some time, just get in touch and I am sure we can make use of your talents and your much needed time.

Worried you live too far away from The Hollies?

Not a problem, we do meetings by Zoom and keep in touch with WhatsApp.  Becoming a CIO has allowed us to create more flexibility in how we communicate with each other and get things done.

Are you now thinking “I am just a person who happens to make lace and I am not sure what I can bring to The Guild”?

Do not worry about that, you are just the right person to be a Volunteer.  You have life experience and lace making experience along with the enthusiasm for lace – that is all you need.

Having read the above, do you now think you might enjoy being a Volunteer? A sub-committee member? or maybe even a Trustee?

That’s Great!

The next step is to complete the form to be found by clicking the button below:
